Campaigns are in full swing here in Kenya for the upcoming presidential election on March 4th. It is an entertaining and interesting time to be in Kenya. There are daily rallies proceeding through Kitale involving anything from hundreds of school kids marching through the streets to drummers and people chanting to semi-trucks patrolling town while blasting music at deafening volumes. It can be quite the spectacle.
As I mentioned in the previous blog, the tube material has taken longer than we had hoped to arrive. Just to put things in perspective, we had hoped the materials would arrive in Kenya in late December. Materials actually arrived in mid-January at which point we needed to finish our business registration with the government. The business registration materials sat on an official’s desk for weeks until we were told they had mixed up the forms and would need to reprint everything.
